September 17th, 10:00am-12:30pm
The Story is the Thing What makes the best performance you have ever seen? Was that 'thing' specific to you (i.e. You love Paris, France and the performance was during a romantic vacation there, or Heavy Metal is your favorite music and a circus used all Metallica and Gun'n Roses as their soundtrack), or was it universal?
In this discussion and practical class we will collaboratively investigate the intersection of circus and theater. We will ask:
What do we want to see as an audience?
What do we want to produce, individually, as artists?
What do we want to produce, collectively, as companies hoping to make truly innovative and engaging works of storytelling/art?
This workshop will be a combination of writing, discussion, and movement in solo & group formations. No prior experience is required in any field,an open mind with questions is encouraged. $55
